Diagnostic Services for Pets

ultrasound

In some cases it can take more than a physical exam or an evaluation of visible symptoms to properly diagnose your pet’s illness. Our veterinarians utilize a number of sophisticated diagnostic tools that provide detailed information about your dog or cat’s condition including blood work, digital x-rays, ultrasound, and more. We also have an on-site laboratory that allows for the results of many of these tests to be delivered in under an hour, saving crucial time in diagnosing critical injuries or in emergency situations. Advanced diagnostics are also used in our preventative care exams, to help us stop diseases and parasites in their earliest stages, before they pose a serious threat to your pet’s health.

radiology

Digital Radiology

Also commonly called an “x-ray,” this is an imaging tool that provides a non-invasive method of examining your dog or cat’s internal organs. Orthopedic abnormalities, intestinal obstructions, organ enlargement, and other conditions can be discovered with this device.

Ultrasound

This is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging tool that allows us to look at the organs in both the abdomen and chest.  It allows the veterinarian to see things like bladder stones and kidney stones, GI obstructions, cysts and tumors, and heart conditions.

Laboratory

Routine fecal screenings, urinalysis, heartworm tests, complete blood counts, pre-surgical screenings and blood chemistry profiles are among the many tests to which our laboratory can provide results quickly.

Blood Pressure Monitoring

Accurate blood pressure monitoring allows us to assess your pet’s condition while under anesthesia, experiencing shock, or in other critical situations. It is also used during routine check-ups to provide a baseline blood pressure reading.

ECG Monitoring

We use an ECG to monitor blood pressure, respiration, heart activity, oxygen saturation and temperature during all surgical procedures.
